Rumour has it that Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai are set to team up for the remake of the 1958 movie Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
It’s none other than the Chennai Express director Rohit Shetty who’s mulling the idea of directing the black-and-white hit movie that starred Kishore Kumar and Madhubala in the leading roles, with the former as a happy-go-lucky garage mechanic and the latter as a rich girl who falls for him.
Buzz is that Rohit Shetty has roped in the Devdas co-stars Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai to reprise the respective roles. But it remains to be seen how much of the old classic comedy is adapted in its original form in the remake.
SRK and Ash have worked together in films like Josh, Mohabattein and Devdas. This will be their fourth film together and we can safely say that the fans must be super excited to see the two together on the big screen again.
On a cautionary note, let’s also tell you that a confirmation of this casting coup is yet to come from any of the parties involved. So let’s not start counting the eggs before they are in the pudding.
Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai is yet to start shooting for her comeback film Jazbaa with director Sanjay Gupta. Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, is busy with the YRF film Fan.
