Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge released in 1995 and definition of love was never the same again to a generation of young urban Indians. From beautiful picturesque locales to a tale of epic romance, DDLJ encapsulated a story that many Indian could relate to. Soon after, people started to dream of having their own Raj(s) and Simran(s) in their life. 1000 weeks and about two decades later, the film is still fresh in our collective memory. Proof: The new DDLJ trailer has already hit the 1 million mark in two days!

Trains:

Ironically, the most important set piece in the film were the Trains. A love affair that begun on train ended with a parting shot of the train. Many of us must have tried enacting that iconic train sequence and made a fool of ourselves but in the film, it was Kajol's winning race against the Indian Railways that stands as the most memorable scene from the film!
Mustard fields:

No one brought out the beauty of Punjab the way Yash Chopra did in his films. And not just the beauty, the iconic director made sure the scenery added more value to his plot. The iconic 'Tujhe Dekha' number playing with the serene mustard fields in the background set the hearts pulsating. And Kajol running to SRK (standing with his arms spread, silly!) turned out to be more than just a magical moment!
Cowbell:

If there's one item from the sets that most people wanted to possess, it was the cowbell. What would seem like a small prop to many actually enhanced and took the story forward. From initiating easy breezy flirting to passionate, unputdownable love, the cowbell stood as a testimony to all that and much more!
Mandolin:

The similar tune still rings a bell and wherever it plays, it does make DDLJ fanatics 'palat' right away! While the cowbell brought Raj and Simran closer, the Mandolin tune became the reason the two connected once again. That particular Mandolin tune is synonymous to DDLJ and remain iconic forever.
Switzerland:

When it's a Yash Chopra film, it cannot be complete without chiffon saris swirling in Switzerland! From the breathtaking locales to the snow capped mountains, Switzerland was not a mere location - it stood out as an entire character in the first half of the film. The Big Fat Indian Wedding:

A  wedding could have never seemed grander than what was shown in a Yash Chopra film. Shahrukh Khan, Salman, Aamir together on Rajat Sharma's Aap Ki Adaalat!

  News anchor Rajat Sharma, who is quite famous for his talk show Aap Ki Adaalat, has invited Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan together on the occasion of completion of 21 years of the show.

Right after the epic ‘milaap’ of Bollywood’s Karan-Arjun aka Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, during the wedding ceremony of Arpita Khan, everything has become quite straight and easy in the industry. Now joining the duo will be another leading actor, Aamir Khan.

Shahrukh Khan Shares Animated Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Promo

Shahrukh Khan's movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), a film that redefined romance in Indian cinema, is completing 1,000 weeks on Dec 12.
While a slew of activities is being planned for the day, with a special trailer being launched yesterday and an animated DDLJ promo being released today.

Shahrukh Khan himself shared the link on his Twitter page.
Yesterday Shahrukh took to Twitter to announce the launch of the new trailer, "My favourite line in a film ever... 'Nahin main nahi aaoonga....' DDLJ (ver 2.0 trailer reloaded)...I am so happy."
A statement from the movie's production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF) read: "Starting Dec 12, 2014, YRF is looking at a slew of activities to commemorate the completion of 1,000 weeks of DDLJ's uninterrupted run at the box office. The film released Oct 20, 1995, and ever since has been playing out in the iconic Maratha Mandir, making it the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema."
As part of the celebrations, SRK and Kajol, who were last seen together in My Name Is Khan, will appear on the television show Comedy Nights With Kapil to celebrate the occasion.
The film won 10 Filmfare Awards, including the awards for the best film, best actor, best actress, best director, at the 1996 edition of the ceremony. Watch the animated promo of DDLJ here...

Shahrukh Khan New Movie News: ‘Happy New Year’ Actor Approached For a Biopic About Him?

One of Bollywood’s most successful actors, Shahrukh Khan, has already singed three new films for 2014. As he recently released “Happy New Year,” which created a big boom at the box office, rumors round that he has been approached for a biopic film.
Khan is currently in talks to play hockey legend Dhyan Chand on screen, but when asked if he would want one on his life on the big screen, his direct answer was “NO!”
“I am for biopics. I would love to do one if I suit the role. But if you are asking me if I want someone to make a biopic on me, I’d say no! I will be very honest,” said Khan according to DNA India. “It is very awkward to think of myself as so important that I should play me on screen! As a matter of fact, my personal life is so unimportant that I would never allow a Shah Rukh Khan to star in it. I would rather say to myself, ‘Tum bohut badde star ho, itne chote aadmi ke life ke baare mein hum tumko nahi le sakta’ (You are such a big star, but you don’t like your little child like life). I would never get cast to play my own life because I don’t think my life is so important or interesting.”
Instead, SRK encourages filmmakers to create life stories of other great stars that are interesting and who have provided more inspiration to everyone else.
“You have Amitji, Kishore Kumar ji, Lata ji, Mohd Rafi saab, Guru Dutt saab, Raj Kapoor saab, Dilpi Kumar saab, Yash ji - there are so many people that you can write stories which are more interesting and more pertinent to the film industry than mine. I am too small a person to have a film made about my life,” said Khan.
SRK is currently only focusing on “Fan” as they put together the set to start filming. YRF studios put together a replica of the Rajdhani Express for the Maneesh Sharma directed film. The train will be constructed for a special sequence between the actor and the villain.
The actor started shooting for the film, but is keeping all the details under wraps. YRF is also constructing a replica of Khan’s Mannat home where they have his birthday scene for the film.
Khan will reportedly play a double role in the film as himself and a commoner named Rahul.
While he has worked with major actresses in the past, it looks like Khan is set to work with two new actresses.
During a press conference, the actor revealed some details about his next film, “Fan.”
“There are two girls in the film. It is a film where I don’t think you need a big lady star. it is cosy interesting, different film,” said Khan. “It is one of the challenging films that I have done in 20 years. We are still discussing as to how we can take it ahead. It is a story of a fan of a movie.”

Shahrukh Khan appointed as DHLF brand ambassador

Shahrukh Khan has been appointed as the brand ambassador of DHFL, housing finance company. Dressed in a formal outfit, black suit, white shirt, black pant teamed with a neck tie, he attended the signing event as the new brand ambassador in Mumbai. After the formalities, he shook hand with DHFL managing director Kapil Wadhawan. Shahrukh said, “It is an honour to be associated with DHFL. I truly believe that owning a home is the first step towards ensuring a secure and confident future for every family. Why Shahrukh Khan is on underworld's hit list

Arrest of seven members of a gang once again raised security concern for Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. Mumbai Police confirmed that the gang had plans to target the actor who is one among the primary targets of the underworld. The seven arrested members of a gang were accused of firing outside the home of a Bollywood producer Karim Morani in August 2014. Mumbai Police informed that arrested people revealed they were asked to monitor the movements of Mahesh Bhatt, Farah Khan and SRK.

According to sources, all arrested people were members of underworld don Ravi Pujara's team and they were behind SRK and Farah Khan as the don was outraged that he did not get the international rights to SRK's movie Happy New Year. Pujara also allegedly demanded a share of the earnings from a massive international publicity tour that included the Bollywood actor. Morani holds the distribution rights to several films including Happy New Year, directed by Farah Khan. Earlier media reports had claimed that underworld don threatened the actor. However, his close aide overruled such reports and said, "Shah Rukh has not got any such calls. We wonder why such rumours are being spread." Mumbai Police too had overruled such reports saying, "He has been given police protection for a long time now. So why is there so much of talk about it?"

SRK-Kajol recreate DDLJ magic on ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil

Shahrukh Khan- Kajol starrer romantic- comedy ‘Dilwale Dulhania Leh Jayenge’ released in the year 1995. It went on to become one of the most popular Indian films of all time. It was successful in International markets as well.  It has also set the record for becoming the longest running Bollywood film of all time. Almost 20 years after its release, the film is still running in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir Theatre. In December 2014, the film will complete 1000 weeks run in the theatre.
The cast and crew of the film are planning to celebrate the occasion in a grand way. Since the film’s producer, legendary Yash Chopra has passed away, the occasion becomes more special. As per reports, SRK and Kajol are all set to appear on ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, one of India’s most popular shows to mark the occasion. A source close to the show has said, "The duo plan to shoot on November 30 at Film City. They will talk about the film and share their memories."
The episode is expected to be shot on 30th of November. Other actors from the film are also slated to appear. The source said, “In one segment of this special episode, the whole star cast including Farida Jalal, Mandira Bedi, Anupam Kher and Pooja Ruparel who had played the role of Chuttki will also be present."
The film’s lead actress Kajol who only acts sporadically these days, was supposed to shoot a special promotional video last week to mark the celebrations. But the shoot has been cancelled after Kajol accidentally injured her leg. A source close to the actress said, "She was at home when she sprained her leg and had to get a plaster. She has been advised rest for two weeks. She was to shoot for the 'DDLJ' promotional video and give interviews for the same."
However she will take part in the TV show and also the celebrations that are to be held at the Maratha Mandir Theatre on 12th December.  There have been some rumours that once 1000 weeks are over, the film will be removed from the theatre. But the owner of the theatre Manoj Desai said, "I haven't received any official intimation from the film's makers about whether they want to continue after the 1000 run is over. I don't know what the plans are. I have only been told not to screen any film in the 6 pm and 9 pm slots on December 12."

Shah Rukh Khan’s Son Aryan To Debut In Dhoom Franchise

It seems Aditya Chopra, the producer of Dhoom franchise has something in his mind in his next installment. The Dhoom series have had stars like Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan in its earlier renditions, multiple other big names are likely to join the film’s cast in the next instalment. Reportedly, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan‘s older son, Aryan Khan are likely to feature in Dhoom franchise. Also, there’s speculation that Shah Rukh Khan might be on board soon.
Yash Raj Films producer, Aditya Chopra is keen on introducing Aryan Khan to Bollywood from YRF banner, but SRK who is very particular about his kids education, the project will take off when Aryan turns 21. In this gap, there can be at least two Dhoom films.

Television show Got Talent to go live with Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra

 After his televison stint with Kaun Banega Crorepati, Shahrukh Khan has now been roped in for another reality show Got Talent. The show that is modeled on Simon Cowell’s Got Talent shows in Britain plans to bring talent from across the world on a single platform in India. Shahrukh Khan along with Priyanka Chopra willl be the presenting the show. The duo were last seen in Bollywood films like 'Don' and 'Don 2'. 
The show will being together 20 (10 Indian and 10 international) artistes from across the globe from countries like Britain, Australia, Spain, China, etc. who have already enthralled TV audiences with their performance on the Got Talent shows in their respective countries. The live event will be held  at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai on December 6 and later broadcasted on television. 

 

While the Got Talent brand is already well established outside of India, a live event hosted by King Khan and PeeCee will assure that it uncovers artists from around the globe.

PM Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign is supported by almost all Bollywood celebrities. They have been posing for cameras with their brooms in hand as well. From Amitabh Bachchan to Salman Khan everyone took it to their Twitter account to show support to this program. However, when it comes to Shahrukh Khan, he is always different.

Shah Rukh Khan: I don’t need invitation to wedding of Salman’s sister; I will definitely go

Invitation or not, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has said he is going to attend the wedding of Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan later this month.

Arpita is set to tie the knot with Delhi boy Aayush Sharma on November 18 in Hyderabad. So while Salman Khan and sister Alvira Khan have been giving out invitations to friends and well-wishers  one wonders whether an invite has been sent to Shah Rukh Khan as well, with whom Salman has had a dosti-dushmani-dosti-again kind of relationship.

Shahrukh Khan, who was recently in Kolkata for the inauguration of a film festival returned to Mumbai and was asked by the media persons if he has been invited to the wedding of Salman Khan’s sister.

“I don't know if the invite has come to my house or not. I have just come back and I am yet to go to my house…But I will definitely go,” Shah Rukh Khan said and added, “I have known Arpita ever since she was a little baby. I have cradled her in my arms. She is like a sister to me. In fact, even an invite is not needed. They are like family and I will go.”

Very much in the same vein, Aamir Khan, too, has said he doesn’t need any invitation to Arpita’s wedding. He’ll just show up.

“Salman aur main itne kareeb hain ki unko apni behen Arpita ke liye invitation card dene ki zaroorat hi nahin hai. Unki behen ki shadi ho rahi hai, meri behen ki shadi ho rahi hai,” Aamir Khan recently told media persons.

Buzz is that the Khan family is planning a lavish wedding reception for Bollywood folks in Mumbai on November 21.

I don't want to work with Shahrukh Khan again - Saif Ali Khan

Although most films that he had starred often flopped and rarely gets the attention of Bollywood film critics, actor Saif Ali Khan said he would stick with the decision not to work with actor Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), indefinitely.

The duo had in fact, a few years ago, worked together in the film Kal Ho Naa Ho (KHNH) which brought Saif fame and a fairly remarkable response from Bollywood films fans.

But Saif was a little disappointed because many attributed the success of the movie to SRK and not to Saif's performance.

In an exclusive interview with Indian media, Saif expressed his desire to make it big in the movie industry without help or backing from other big stars.

"I do not want to work with Shah Rukh Khan in another movie like Kal Ho Naa Ho, not ever again. I want to star in a even greater movie that can bring me to greater heights," he said.

"I do not want to be a second choice or a supporting actor beside a big name like Shah Rukh Khan. It took me a long time to work and graduate from the second lead to a main star and I don’t want to go back to doing that,” Saif was quoted in Filmi Beat portal.

Saif's decision is said to have soured the relationship between the two stars.

Shahrukh Khan: I Have No Clue About Don 3

It was recently reported that actor Shahrukh Khan will soon start shooting for Don 3 to be produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. The producer was quoted by a leading daily as, "How can I do Don without Don? SRK is Don and Don is SRK." However, apparently the Don himself, Shahrukh Khan has no idea about the making of the third part of the series. Same was being told about another upcoming film Raees which is also out of the Happy New Year star's knowledge.

Having learnt about the news of he starring in Don 3, Happy New Year actor Shahrukh Khan took to Twitter only to inform that he has no idea of the reported upcoming project. "Don3 is supposedly on!?Issues being discussed on Twitter I hav no clue about. Casting of Raees done! Why isn't anyone informing me Ha ha!!! (sic)," posted Shahrukh Khan on Twitter. Shahrukh Khan also tweeted, "As for what I am doing actually. I am going to restart working out. Get my sinus to leave. Get to make notes on Fan. Rest & watch BlackList (sic)." Well, it certainly is confusing as the producer claims to be working on the third installment of Don while, lead actor of the probable project, Shahrukh Khan has no idea about it.

Will Shah Rukh Khan Pair Up With Priyanka Chopra In Don 3?

Everyone is elated that Don is all set to return with his conniving tricks. He will again go loose and won’t mind killing people on the go. Shah Rukh Khan did a great job as Don and Farhan Akhtar can’t even think about a Don film without SRK. But what about the rest of the cast? Will Priyanka Chopra reprise her role in the film?

Reason behind our doubts is pretty simple. During Don 2, reports about SRK‘s overly closeness to PC raised a lot of eyebrows. It seems something that was happening discreetly all the while suddenly came out in the open. The scene turned ugly with Gauri ably aided by Karan Johar and others, got involved in it. Apparently, Priyanka got barred from many parties and filmi gatherings and once Don 2 released, Shah Rukh distanced himself from her. Post that, they weren’t seen together again. So we wonder if they will come together for Don 3?
Well, it is not really necessary. Many times we have seen sequels which have different cast from the original. Farhan Akhtar may easily bump off PC’s character from the film.

Big B, SRK clear air over Happy New Year controversy

Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan have taken to Twitter to clear the air on reports which fueled the controversy involving Jaya Bachchan's criticism of Happy New Year.
In recent news reports, the Indian media took comments made by Jaya Bachchan out of context and claimed she insulted Happy New Year, the very movie her son, Abhishek Bachchan was a part of.
According to NDTV.com, Mrs. Bachchan criticised the movie at the Mumbai Literature Festival: “HNY is the most nonsensical film I’ve seen in recent years. I said that to the film’s lead actor as well. I watched it only because Abhishek was part of it. I told him he’s a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that."
This was followed by a flurry of reported rebuttals by Shahrukh Khan (Read: Amar Akbar Anthony was also nonsensical: SRK to Jaya Bachchan) as well as reports that Amitabh Bachchan was embarrassed by his wife's comments and the Bachchan clan had gone to SRK's house to apologise to the superstar.
There was also a report which suggested that Shahrukh had "rejected" the Bachchan family's apology.
However, Amitabh Bachchan and SRK have had enough and took to Twitter to clear the air.

Shah Rukh Khan Annoyed By Jaya Bachchan's Happy New Year Comment?

Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan's comment that actor Shah Rukh Khan's latest film Happy New Year is 'nonsensical' has reportedly annoyed the actor. The film also stars her son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, but that did not change her opinion of it.

At the recently concluded Mumbai Literature Festival, Ms Bachchan had said, "I only watched the film because Abhishek is in it. I told him he's a great actor if he can act stupid in front of the camera like that." She was speaking at a session titled 'the failure of literature in informing current cinema'.

Shah Rukh, who is reportedly miffed at Ms Bachchan's comment, apparently refused to entertain Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai's call defending Ms Bachchan's comment. It was his wife Gauri who spoke to the actor couple. Shah Rukh also reportedly avoided megastar Amitabh Bachchan's calls on the same subject. Clearly King Khan is no mood for damage control.

Directed by Farah Khan, the film also features actors Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah. Happy New Year, which opened to mix reviews, has collected over Rs 300 crore worldwide since it released on October 24.

Shah Rukh Khan to romance Sonam Kapoor in 'Raees'?

For the first time in her career, actress Sonam Kapoor looks set to pair up with superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Sonam seems to be making a push for the big league -- so far dominated by the likes of Deepika, Katrina and Priyanka -- by landing leading lady roles in the films opposite Bollywood superstars. She’s already doing director Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with Salman Khan.

And now ApunKaChoice has learnt that Sonam Kapoor will be seen playing Shah Rukh Khan’s love interest in director Rahul Dholakia’s film Raees.

It’s a film Shahrukh Khan is pretty kicked about. He earlier said that Raees is very different film from anything he’s done in the past.

“ 'Raees' is in a space I have never tried, it is a different film. Rahul Dholakia narrated the film to me and I liked it very much,” the superstar who recently turned 49 is quoted as saying.

Sonam Kapoor’s presence in the film hasn’t been confirmed yet. But if she is indeed roped in, it would be interesting to see how good she and SRK look together on the big screen.

Is Salman Khan ahead of Shah Rukh Khan in Box-office race?

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan may be riding high on the success of HAPPY NEW YEAR, with the film crossing 100 crore mark and inching towards 200 crore club. However, what could upset him is the fact that HAPPY NEW YEAR is way behind in terms of minting money at the Box-office than his archrival Salman Khan's KICK, which released a few months back. While Shahrukh and Farah Khan's dream project HNY made 151 crore in the first week of its release, Salman Khan's Sajid Nadiadwala directed KICK netted around 160 crore (to be validated) during the first week. While the Jacqueline, Nawazuddin and Randeep starrer, KICK netted 49-50 crore, nearly 210 crore in just two weeks from India, our trade sources reveal that the Deepika, Abhishek, Sonu, Boman, Vivaan starrer HAPPY NEW YEAR could earn 35 crore (at the best) in the second week, thus adding it to 186 crore.

Considering the above stats, it only shows Salman Khan 'kicks' ahead of Shahrukh Khan in the Box-office race. It had even shattered the records set by SRK's CHENNAI EXPRESS. However, KICK was the second highest grosser of Hindi cinema, after Aamir Khan's DHOOM 3.

Shahrukh Khan: I Want To Do Dhoom But YRF Is Not Asking Me

Shahrukh Khan has been part of many Yash Raj Films, the collaboration between the two has always proved to be successful but he has never been part of their famous Dhoom franchise films.  The actor revealed today that he wouldn't mind being part of their next Dhoom film if the movie is offered to him.
